Blowing Bubbles

We have a kind neighbor that gave the boys their very own bubbles. They had fun trying to get the bubbles to work, but half of the fun was just dipping their wand in the bubble solution.

Obachan gave the boys these fun traditional Japanese play clothes. When they wear them they say, "I handsome". I must agree...don't you?

Picnicing

This spring, we have been enjoying the fun of picnicking! The boys get so excited to eat outside on a blanket. It is such wonderful family time enjoying the beautiful creation around us. On this picnic, we gave the boys juice boxes for the first time. That was a definite hit! They were sure to get every last drop. After dinner, they explored around the park to see what they could find, buttercups, snake grass, and the favorite.....sticks!

Tulip Festival

This last weekend, we drove up to the tulip festival. Ever since I knew of the festival I have wanted to go, but have not been able to make the timing work. This year we really wanted to get the boys up there to see the tulips, tulips, and more tulips! We checked the weather to be sure it would not be rainy, prepared the night before so that we would be ready to leave the next morning. We hit the road and sure enough, about half way there we were hit with a down pour of rain. My heart sank as I knew that the flowers would not be much fun in cold, rainy, wet, and muddy fields. But Kenta seems to always know....he said...."just wait". Sure enough, the weather was clear and we had a wonderful time exploring the fields of color.

Snuggle Time

The boys all love their blankets. Most things they know that they need to share; there are not many things that they get to call their own. But they know whose blanket is whose...and they are very protective of their own. Lately they have been particularly in need of extra snuggles as they are breaking in their two year molars. They get their blanket and say, "Snuggle time! Snuggle time!" How can I resist it! I know I need to do the dishes, laundry, cook dinner... but when the call for snuggles comes, I must stop and take it in. I know it won't be long before I will be the one calling for snuggles! These kids are growing up too fast, I am sure my parents still think the same about their baby. One night before bed, the boys got on the couch with their blankets and decided that they could snuggle each other. So sweet!

Playing in the Snow

The boys had so much fun running in the snow when we went to visit Grammy and Grandpa in Davenport. What a beautiful day! The sunshine beat down on us warming us from the brisk winter air. I must admit that this winter I have had moments of being tired of the mess that the snow makes, but this moment of laughter and fun was absolutely priceless. In the open fields, the boys fearlessly ran and ran and ran as the snow crunched under their little feet. They ran in circles to see the footprints that they left behind. They ran, laughing as mommy and daddy chased them. These are memories are sweet to capture and hopefully tell them about some day.

M running to catch me!
J watching the footprints that he has made.
I watching the BIG trucks drive by on the highway.

What a beautiful day!
